The purpose of this blog

A combination of laziness and perfectionism wouldn’t let me start a personal blog for a long time.
I had a feeling about it as personal brand development, for which I neither had seen the right strategy neither even wanted to think about it.

Brand has inertia

A brand is a powerful thing and easily may grow stronger than its creator.
Can you recall the name of the inventor of Coca-Cola? If all of a sudden, the board will decide to get into the semiconductor business and sell chips under the brand of Coca-Cola, they will become a laughing stock.
Similar inertia is characteristic for a case of personal brands. What will happen to Greta Thunberg if she will radically change her narratives, say to anti-immigrant rhetoric? The brand will dissolve, leaving an ordinary troubled teenager behind.
Even if you are just a regular blogger, the content you are posting attracts a relevant audience. This audience, in turn, will expect you to fulfill their expectations.
It’s like in everyday life, people have some perception of your personality, and it’s hard to change it. It is more efficient to build formal relationships with people to avoid unwanted expectations.
The same strategy may be implemented in personal blog management. Instead of selling yourself as a person, you may choose to develop multiple brands by supporting thematic sections.

Treat your blog content like supermarket treats goods it sells.

Why did I decide to start the blog after all? I will be honest with you here. I want to make money this way.
If for the blog topics themselves, it would be nice to have some global questions to discuss, but those don’t pay well straight away and sometimes put a price on one’s head.
Besides, I’m not fond of the concept of banner ads and would prefer a more smooth connection between content and money. Maybe in time, that will come naturally, but for a starter, affiliate marketing will do.
I believe the best strategy in life is honesty with the world and oneself. To be solving some problems instead of being parasitic.
What problems can you solve in affiliate marketing if you neither produces neither deliver anything? If the customer is already looking for a certain item, he will find it without your help. A good salesman is not the one who convinces a customer to buy the item, but the one who offers a solution to the customer’s problem by purchasing a relevant item.

Mental logistics

So, in general, the idea is to start by looking for the problems which bother people. Do some research about existing solutions available at marketplaces like Amazon. Wrap it up in nice relevant articles with affiliate links, and to expect most traffic from the search engines.
